Review: Trials 2 Second Edition

The sequel to the first 2003 installment, this game is action packed with all new enhanced graphics, and new tracks. Although the first game wasn’t the greatest or most popular game in the world, this one is sure to win over some new fans, as well as bring back fans of the first game.

One thing that might throw off some of the younger gamers out there, is the challenge. This game tends to be a bit more difficult than the first game but don’t worry, where there is a will, there is a way. I found myself a bit frustrated throughout most of the game, but I stuck with it, and am glad I did. Not because the game thrilled me, but there’s a nice rush when you find yourself overcoming obstacles.

Now, I should have brought this up earlier, but I didn’t, so I will now. The basic premise of this game is simple, dirt bikes. Get from start to finish. Sounds easy enough right? No, not really. The tracks vary in difficulty from moderate to downright insane, with traps, tricks, metal boxes, and jumps to overcome. But each time you complete a track, you rank up. And you know it’s nice to get bragging rights over your friends when you’re doing better at a game than they are. That wasn’t the case for me.

Now if you remember the first game, you probably remember how horrible the graphics were. That isn’t the case in this one. They are much better. And if you’re expecting a game that’s realistic, try something else. This won’t be the game for you. So now we are asked, is this game worth buying? If you can get a good deal on it sure, but I wouldn’t pay full price. Its fun, but not for long. You’re not missing much, so maybe try some Pong.
