Short term market

The casual games market is fast expanding, at a rate faster than other high budget games. The difference between a casual and a high budget game? The first would be in the words itself. Casual games don’t focus on graphics but they do on gameplay, high budget games focus on all elements, gameplay, graphics and advertising. With one section less focused on, casual games have more money to spare. The success of casual games is not just in cutting cost, More

PlayBook Wins ‘Need For Speed’ Expansion

Research In Motion became one of the main providers of mobile devices on the market after its smartphones Blackberry became the most preferred business phones. The company developed a super-modern and quite competitive tablet, the Playbook, which would have the ultimate multimedia applications and would deliver super experience to users.

Maybe this is one of the reasons why the game giant Electronic Arts has picked up the PlayBook for its expansion of the “Need For Speed”popular car racing game. According to people of the company, many of the technology fans would trust the PlayBook - it promises a great deal of fun along with the typical Blackberry applications and a variety of newly developed office and business tools. The complexity of the device, its absolutely spectacular design and screen resolution, however, are probably the main reason why the people from Electronic Arts have made that choice.

The game would most probably have an in-built demo in the tablet so that users can test it before deciding whether they would like to purchase the complete version. From the two companies guarantee perfect experience and unique gameplay that has never been seen on a tablet device or a laptop before. The price of the game is currently hard to predict but in the following weeks it would be announced by EA. The tablet is coming out on April 19 and would be released in the U.S., Canada and the UK at the same time. The price would be varying, but experts point out the Apple tablet price as an indicator. The tablet will not direct you to the best red diesel supplier, but would have variety of apps and games that would definitely be quite welcome.

3D in your pocket

If there’s one thing I hate more than trying to get a good deal on global roaming access, it’s products that sound amazing and world-changing in all the the preview articles – and then completely fail to live up to the hype. I know there are a lot of folk out there who love the new Nintendo 3DS but I am definitely not one of them. I know the console has a ton of fans, because most of my mates are full converts to the 3D experience and were all drooling over their “glasses-free” 3D gaming in the pub last night. Yawn! And it’s not often I get bored by a geeky conversation.
I have no problem with the console itself (there was a period a while ago when my family were concerned that my DS had become surgically attached to my fingertips) I just don’t see the point of adding a gimmick to make an already great product maybe 1% more interesting. And I’d even debate if it does that! All it seems to add, to me, is a slight sensation of nausea and wobbly graphics. Yeah, that’s really worth shelling out the extra money for…
And it turns out I’m not alone. A lot of people are reporting strange sensations while playing the 3DS; some even said they felt they were still “seeing” 3D after finishing playing. Erm, that’s real life you idiots; nothing to do with the games console! It was only when I Googled my symptoms that I found Nintendo itself warning us, in very small letters at the bottom of their website, not to play for longer than half an hour, to scale back the 3D effects if you get dizzy and not let young kids have a go. Sounds more like alcohol than a computer game to me.

Remembering The Good Ol' 80's Vintage Video Games

With talk of memory cards, carte r4i, the next new game platform, etc.. it’s a wonder that vintage video games still exist today. But they do! Vintage games seem to remain in style, and together with the global recognition of video gaming today, vintage video games are certainly no different. Games of the 80’s are available almost everywhere, through the Nintendo Wii’s virtual releases (which consist of numerous NES, Sega and Super NES titles) towards the Xbox Live Arcade More

Medal of Honour

The most underrated game of the year - it doesn’t take me long to realize that the bigger the gaming industry gets the more it turns into an overwhelming heavily publicized industry. Just like the movie and just like the Oscars. Gamespot is like Oscars, Bafta is like the Sun Dance Film festival. Much to most of everyones knowledge - winners of the Sun Dance Film Festival are more artistically tuned. I’m not saying Oscars are bad, but they fail More

PS3 Hacker

By far the most secure console until last year December had been put into question by Hacker Youness Alaoui who less then 24hrs broke the code and made it look like childs play. Although the PS3 competitors like the Xbox and the Nintendo cannot pride on their high security, the break into the PS3 has certainly raised questions. Are these consoles ever going to be hack proof? Is there ever going to come a time where the publishers and game More

Zeit Squared Review

Zeit Squared, or Zeit2, is the latest shooting game on the market. Although the game is not visually outstanding like the artworks of Jonathan Shaw, it almost looks like a copy of Geometry Wars and Electroplankton, the concept of the game is different from all others. It allows the user to rewind time and go at it again.

The game has a lot of enemies coming at the player from all More
